Happy Endings

for Karley, Keena, Duchess & Wiley

In mid-2008, four five-month old female puppies were surrendered to a shelter by their owner. Rescue took 3 of them. They were in good physical condition, but they had never been out of their kennel and socialized, so were very timid. They were put into three foster homes to avoid their continuing dependence on each other. All pups turned out to have excellent temperaments and be very intelligent. With socialization and training, they were soon ready for their own homes.

Karly was adopted by her foster mom in Sacramento, and went right into obedience training. Her adopter hopes she can become a certified therapy dog, like her beloved predecessor, Samson. Meanshile, she is having a ball in agility class.

Keena lives in St. Helena, where she loves to run in the vineyards and go on camping trips with her big brother, GSP Buddy. Her adopters love her dearly.

Keena

Duchess has made the life of her adopter in Sonoma much happier. She was feeling very depressed after losing her previous Shorthair, and Duchess has given her a new outlook on life.

Duchess

Five months after the three pups were rescued, their brother was surrendered to the shelter. He was then ten months old and had never been socialized or trained. He was just terrified of the strange new world he faced. We named him Jaeger, hoping to give him a boost in self-esteem. He was with our trainer foster person for months before she said he was ready to move on. He was adopted by an understanding couple in Napa. They changed his name to Wylie, as they felt Jaeger just didn't fit their shy, sensitive boy. Wylie has overcome his shyness and now is confident and friendly with strangers. He is a much loved and treasured dog.
